The Stamford Parent Leadership Training Institute celebrates a new graduating class at the Stamford Government Center Tuesday.
The 20-week program, started by the Connecticut Commission On Children in 1992, encourages parents to develop skills to become advocates for children. This year 16 parent-graduates will mark the occasion in the government center lobby, together with graduates from the newly-created UCONN People Empowering People (PEP) program, a group that similarly focuses on parent problem solving and leadership skills.
The ceremony is at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a Leadership Gala coming up June 11, honoring former Mayor Dannel Malloy.
