Blackhawk helicopters prepare to land in Afghanistan in 2007. President Obama announced earlier this month plans to dispatch an additional 30,000 troops to the war torn country.
Junior congressman Jim Himes, who has spent his freshman year frequently making the rounds in his district, will again host a series of town hall forums, this time on America’s policy in Afghanistan. The Democratic congressman recently returned from a “fact finding” trip to the war torn country and plans to “share his impressions of the situation on the ground and gather input from his constituents on American involvement and policy” there, according to a statement from his office.
The first of the events is scheduled to take place at UCONN Stamford next week. Here are the details:
